How Refill Works

The idea of refills is that you can buy your goods without plastic or unnecessary packaging. Shops like us are also called Zero Waste stores. Instead of buying your goods pre-packaged, bring along your own existing containers to refill (these can be anything you are happy to use - bread bags, jam jars and take-away tubs are all good options as they are light).

We start by weighing your empty container (please make sure it is clean!). Our scales then remember this weight and don’t take it into account as part of the price you are charged. You choose how full you would like the container (helping to reduce food waste too!) and we then add your chosen product to the container. This is the same process for food and liquids. Everything is measured and priced by weight.

The difference with Replenish Refills is that the shop is mobile. We stand at regular weekly market locations (Hinckley on Fridays and Saturdays, and Kirby Muxloe every Wednesday) or you can book us to come to your door (if you have over £20 worth of products to buy and are within a 10-mile radius of Hinckley town centre). We also visit Kirkby Mallory on the first Sunday of every month.

We sell a range of products which are plastic-free: from coffee beans to conditioner, pasta to peanuts (salted, spicy or chocolate-covered), and walnuts to washing-up liquid — it's surprising how much we can fit into Katy the Van! Take a look at the What We Stock section on this website to see all of the products, ingredients and prices - this will also help you to plan your shop with us and know which containers to bring along with you.
